The Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning enables professional advisers to develop their specialist
planning skills, providing clear delineation from mainstream advisers.
The (Level 6) Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning builds on existing skills and knowledge, enabling advisers to develop specialist planning capabilities and offer a sophisticated and comprehensive approach to financial management. The qualification gives holders clear differentiation from the main body of advisers and upon completion advisers are eligible for Chartered Financial Planner status (subject to a minimum of 5 years’ experience although not necessarily post qualification). This is the premium title for the professional financial adviser and gives them parity with other professionals such as accountants and solicitors.
To obtain this qualification advisers must complete four of the following specialist units:
Personal Tax and Trust Planning
Business Financial Planning
Pension Planning
Investment Planning
Financial Planning Process (compulsory)
Senior Management and Supervision
Pension Transfers
Retirement Income Planning
On completion of the Diploma advisers are better prepared to offer a sophisticated and comprehensive
approach to financial management ensuring that they provide their clients with a high level of service.
PFS Fellowship
Available for candidates who have completed the Advanced Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, the Fellowship recognises a candidate’s continuation of study above and beyond the requirements Advanced Diploma which sets them apart from the crowd.
