More people are choosing to scale back their work or slow down their pace rather than make an all or nothing decision with regards to their work leading up to retirement. The term is ‘pretirement’. Half of those currently at the age to retire have plans to working past State Pension age. Some people are even looking at trying to earn a living from a hobby or start their own business. The cost of living is rising and factors such as this and people living longer has built up the new culture of ‘pretirement’.
