The ‘sandwich generation’ are a new group of people who not only look after and care for sick, disabled or older relatives but also their dependent children. Pension injustice from an ageing population could be making life even more difficult for this group. This new generation has doubled responsibility, have sandwich careers but are also victims of an inactive role in the labour market and as such feel like they have less leisure time which can cause more stress.
